Harp and Piano Studio
Harp and piano lessons for preschoolers, children, teenagers, and adults of all ages located in Spanish Fork (southern Utah Valley).
Harp Studio Policies
Welcome to my studio! I love working with students of all ages to pursue their love of music. I believe in individualized, and comprehensive music instruction that includes technique, theory, composition, improvisation, ear-training, sight-reading, and solo and ensemble performance opportunities.
Parent Responsibilities
- Be your child’s cheerleader!
- Help your child reserve a regular time for practice and listen to recordings each day.
- Provide a well-maintained harp the right size for your child.
- Purchase or reimburse the instructor for required music books.
Student Responsibilities
- Arrive at each lesson on time, well-prepared, and with all books and materials.
- Practice – you will make the most progress if you spend time at the harp every day.
- Listen – listening to recordings daily makes a big difference in your progress.
- Fingernails – keep them neatly trimmed.
- Put away all electronic devices during lesson time.
What Does Tuition Include?
Tuition is a year-round, all-inclusive membership fee that includes:
- Private lessons (30-min, 45-min, or 60-min)
- Group lessons
- Studio master classes
- Studio recitals
- Other studio activities, incentive programs
- Studio administration and organization
- Teacher experience and continuing education
During the academic school year private lessons are held weekly, except during studio breaks or group lesson/master class weeks (see current online studio calendar). Because studio enrollment is year-round, it includes summer activities. Summer scheduling is flexible to accommodate vacation and travel schedules of students and instructors.
Commitment
Students enrolling in my studio commit to the full academic session of study. It is assumed that students will continue their studies during the summer session unless notice is given by April 30. Students who do not enroll in the summer session but wish to return to the studio for the next academic year, will forfeit their time slot and will be placed on the waiting list.
Canceled and/or Rescheduled Lessons
Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance, and reserves the student’s exclusive lesson time and studio benefits throughout the academic session regardless of whether or not he/she attends lessons. A student who does not attend his/her lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson. Students can send me videos of your assignments in advance, and I will review them and respond to them during your lesson time. Please note that the instructor may cancel lessons for person illness, family needs, or professional travel. The inevitability of missed lessons has already been considered in the formulation of the tuition.
Discontinuing Lessons
Please be courteous and give at least a one-month notice if you decide to withdraw from the studio. This gives us time to wrap up any current projects and discuss how the student can continue to follow their musical goals. This also allows me the necessary time to fill that empty lesson slot.
